| | Found egg in the garden. Found an egg in the garden when I was clearing an area under a tree which hadn't been touched for a few years-all stingers and thistles. It is undamaged, 30mm long, 20mm wide at its widest point, turquoise with reddy/browny spots/blotches. What is it? It could have been there a few years, there is no nest up the tree, but there was a couple of years ago.
Is it illegal to possess it? Should I bin it, blow it or leave it as it is. I know very little about birds. |

| | | Re: Found egg in the garden. Hiya, and welcome to WAB Wurlitzer, sounds to me like a blackbirds egg, I have found them before lying in strange places and wondered how they got there, they certainly fit your description.
As for what you should do with it.....I`m keeping out of that discussion, I`m sure someone else will advise on that |

With your description it is most probably a blackbirds egg, it is however illegal to keep the egg. I would just leave it where you found it.
Thanks, HanD. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
