| | | Re: Any thing worth looking out for in surrey There are plenty of great places to go wandering in Surrey, there are lots of large commons, woodlands, lakes and rivers in fact there is a WAB meet coming up soon at Thursley Common in Surrey soon.
Around Bookham, and Cobham areas i have found loads to see, buzzards, kingfishers, goldcrests, there is a nice 18th century landscaped garden at Painshill Park in Surrey, full of follies built by a rich aristocrat, theres a hermitage, ruined abbey, crystal grotto, a tower, and a few other things, huge lakes and amazing gardens and views, well worth a look.
You wont be short of places to go in Surrey, good luck. |

| | | Re: Any thing worth looking out for in surrey Lord, where to start, it is an amazing county. There is one of the best butterfly sites in the country, let alone, county, at Denbies Hillside, nr Dorking. Bookham Common is famous for the Purple Emperor butterflies there. Thursley is great for dragonflies. The list is endless and I hope you enjoy it there. |

| | | Re: Any thing worth looking out for in surrey You may like to have a look at this link: Surrey Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty There is a vast range of habitats in a relatively small space.
There is just so much to see around here it is difficult to know where to start. Bring some suncream with you, it's hot down south, and our spring starts sooner, summer's longer, and winter starts later. You'll have no trouble understanding us because we all sound like the Queen and we're pretty used to foreigners so you'll be alright. Joking aside, I hope you're happy here.
Oh, and although my details say I am in West Sussex, and I am, I am just a few miles from Surrey and spend a lot of time there.
P.S. Plenty of Nightingales around here, plus cuckoo, nightjar, woodcock, firecrest ...
