Oyster Catcher Question

This guy was in a field in the forest of Bowland is this usual, or had he simply got lost

I don't think it was lost.

Oystercatcher are very wide ranging birds. They are common on the coasts but they are also common inland too.

In the last two weeks I saw one close to the top of the pass of Drumochter and at Stainmore on the A66.

Oystercatchers are certainly common at this time of year on the Eastern edge of the Forest of Bowland and possibly for other parts, from personal observation. I have a vid. of a couple courting somewhere (Oystercatchers, I mean), but as my vid camera no longer works that well, that's no help.
