This morning I spotted two beautiful birds in my garden tree, eating the red berries; I hadn't seen this species before. They were a mushroom browny pink colour, with a smoothe crest and black/white/red/yellow markings on their wings.
I checked my garden birds book, and the nearest I could find was the waxwing.
Are they usually spotted this far down on the coast?

This winter has seen an incredibly large influx which reached all points of the compass in the UK. Most have now returned north, though there are still quite a few of mainly small parties of birds still here.
