| | | Re: Normal herring gull behaviour?? I have seen this behaviour on a few occasions. The first time I rescued the pigeon but it was so badly injured I finished up dispatching it. After that I allowed nature to take its course. The Herring gull is omnivorous and will take anything from offal to vulnerable or sickly birds and small mammals.
It is only when we are confronted with such scenes that our natural compassion for the under dog causes us distress. What you see on the film is the natural world in action, as savage as it is beautiful.
