Unidentified bird?
Can anyone please tell me what this is? It landed in my garden and spread it's wings to cover the bird it was carrying. Thanks

Hi,

With that combination of colouring, I think that has to be a male Sparrowhawk.
Not too good with BOP though, so please await a second opinion.

Yes, it's a Sparrowhawk "mantling" it's prey.

wow cool picture of male sparrow hawk mantaling its prey they do this so any other predator or corvid cant see ther dinner well lovley pic
