| | What did we do so wrong? Hi All,
My brother found a baby tit in his office in the middle of a busy town centre he said he tried to find the nest to no avail and as i said he was actually in his office he was flying into things and doing more harm than good. I own birds myself and told him to look for the nest or find somewhere safe to put to him so his mum can come and get him, my brother said there was no where he searched for a couple of hours leaving the little man in a box, In the end I told him to bring him to me.. This was thursday night I seeked advice from my vet who was happy for me to keep him as he had no sign of injury I made him up cat food and some egg food in warm water and he was eating fine every hour i was feeding him from a brush so had him for four days, We went out for a meal and was gone for an hour and half no longer and come home to find him gone I don't understand what we done wrong considering we had him for so long. He was in a quiet room on his own away from my birds so I couldn't endager any of them he was happy, flying, singing. I really wouldn't have taken him if i thought there was anywhere we could put him that was safe and his mum could have found him I truly just do not understand what happened

| | | Re: What did we do so wrong? ..Hello, when you say he was 'gone' I presume you meant 'dead', is this correct. If so I expect he flew into the glass of the window. It happens, even to birds who are 'free'. we have had a great tit fly into our closed patio window and died immediately. You did your very best, so don't feel bad....Posie... ...Oh by the way..'Welcome to WAB' |

And thank you for the welcome.
He was in a cage so he couldn't have flown into a window

Thank you for the welcome... I really hope we don't get anymore as i'd rather they would be safe with their mums as that is the best place for them I know that.
I was wondering if he could have been have been rejected from the nest if he was already ill?
Really was upsetting as I knew what could happen but as he survived so long we thought he'd be ok i even named him tuffty R.I.P little man
Thank you for all your kind words | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
