| | | 1st year nest box !!!!!!!!!!! This winter just gone was my first attempt to entice garden birds to my feeders and bird table ...after a rather slow few months i had a few great tits and blue tits show up ,no great numbers but i was happy that they paid a visit all the same..
after reading some replies sent to me ,saying i should place some more cover in my garden i bought an apple tree and cherry blossom tree. although still rather small ,this enticed a few more to pay a visit to the garden..feeling rather happy with this i went out and bought a small nest box to place in a rather mature palm tree i have in the garden....to my amazement in january there was a lot of activity of rather nosy blue tits.. into feburary and i was amazed that they started to build a nest....2 weeks ago i counted 7 chicks fly off ..wow i was amazed..as this was the 1st attempt to entice them to nest ...would i be right in asking if they will return again next year? and would it be the same pair to return..or is it a first come first serve as to nesting? many thanks for all your help......shiffty | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
