| | | Swifts? I wonder if anyone can fill me in on these little darlings, we have about 1/2 dozen Swifts that regularly fly over the house, if I don't see them I hear them, there is house in a nearby road that has a few nest up under its roof, which I thought were for Swallows, but as I've never seen any Swallows would the Swifts be nesting in these? also, for the last couple of days they've not been around, and this morning there was just one it seemed to fly out for ages, then came back, usually they're bombing about low over the gardens when it's overcast like this morning, have they exhausted their food supply, or has the horrid storm we had sent them elsewhere any ideas anyone
Thank you

| | | Re: Swifts? They will fly off for miles (I've read over to mainland Europe sometimes but not sure) in search of food or of the weathers not right. The babies go into a sort of semi hibernation until, they get back.
I'd imagine they are nesting in gaps under the roof space, thats why they nest in older houses a lot. |
