Choughs at Lizard Point, Cornwall

Lucky enough to get some shots of the Choughs on the Lizard. They are a breeding pair with four fledgling chicks which move around between Kynance Cove and Lizard Point.

A couple in flight ..



Adult and chicks feeding on the rocks..



The chicks were far more accommodating than the adults for photo opportunities ...



Worth getting up early for - possibly not the best of images but I'm "chuffed"

Choughs, kittiwakes, black backs, puffins, seals, wrens, sea eagle ... all in one day .........am I happy???? Yep!!!

Wonderful entertaining birds.

I have never seen the Cornish Choughs but I always take an annual trip to South Stack RSPB reserve on Anglesey in north Wales to see them.

I normally see 1 to 5 birds there but I have seen a group of up to 30 in a raging storm all apparently enjoying the windy weather.

I have also seen Choughs at their Scottish stronghold on Islay.

I've just seen my first ever Choughs (2) at Sennen near Lands End, been going there since 1979 and this is the first time I've seen these anywhere in the UK so I'm well chuffed.
