| | | Egg and bird ID please Hope someone can help with this one.
Earlier this week I was walking on moorland in NW Scotland (about 200m above sea level and close to the sea) when a LBJ shot up out of the grass next to the path. When I looked down I saw this nest so grabbed a very quick shot before moving away.
I though the LBJ was a meadow pipit but on checking the details of their eggs all the sites I have seen say the eggs are glossy white, heavily blotched with brown.
While these eggs are blotched with brown the ground colour also seems more brown and not glossy white.
Do meadow pipit eggs show large variations in colour or did I see something else?
Thanks
Dave
