| | | Why haven't the eggs hatched? Hello all,
The eggs in question belong to a pair of mute swans nesting in a reed bed at the National Trust property where i work. I'm not 100% sure but believe the same pair bred successfully last year. The pen has been sitting on the eggs for around 50 to 60 days i'd say which i know is far over the usual period. Any thoughts as to why the eggs might not have hatched? I don't think its a case of them being destroyed as she was still sitting on them last time i saw her. Wisdom much appreciated! | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
