| | New member/Local knowledge Hello I am a new member and live in the Northeast, If any WAB members need any info on the best places to watching wildlife in and around Northumberland just give me shout and I will only be too happy to help.
P.S I have just come back from camping at Beachcomber campsite Gowick Northumberland, which is near Lindisfarne, and it a great place for watching Terns and Eiders and other sea birds.
I would Highly recommend to other WAB members.
Cheers

We're spending a week in Northumbria National Park in August. I'd love to see some wildlife whilst there but know I'll find this difficult with a 4 yr old in tow! Is there anywhere you could recommend that's safe/suitable for a youngster. I'd like to try and get him interested in nature and wildlife and he's already obsessed with different bugs and butterflies etc.
Cheers

| | | Re: New member/Local knowledge Hi and thanks for the welcome,
Jayvee I know how it is with children in tow and it can be hard work but very rewarding (my two girls are Two and Three).
I would recommend Keilder forest as the there is varied walks and bike trails for all ages and capabilities, and will see lots of wildlife Or head for any of the beaches on the northumberland coastline theres some great rock pools near Amble and some great birds in and around Duridge bay.
There is a great park in the Tyne valley Rolands Gill Where the children can play but you can watch red kites fly above you.
I am sure you will have a brill time.
P.s Alway take plenty food a change of clothes because you will be suprised how long toddlers want to stop out for, my two never want to come home,
If you need any direction just give me a shout.

I'll make a note of those places. I'm hoping to persuade my grown up kids along too if they can bear to leave their pcs. ! Sounds a lovely place, I'm looking forward to it.
