| | | Author seeks Crow fans, and esp people who keep crows Hi there
I'm writing my fifth novel presently in which a crow will star!
I would really like to ask some questions of anyone who has a relationship with a crow! I'd like even better to meet them.
I will make sure that in my book's acknowledegements there's a request for donations to the charity of your choice.
Can you help?
Thanks so much

I'm sure you've already read this but its RIGHT up your street I think
Esther Woolfson: Corvus-A Life with Birds.
Thoroughly recommended
Also good is Mark Cocker's Crow Country..but you've probably read
that one too! |

I would be happy to tell you about mine and my boyfriends relationship with our crow family - i have trouble logging into Wild About Britain sometimes so please free to contact me by email - gillzb@hotmail.com.
I have a good list of books about crows - some from America - they seem more corvid friendly than us - and you could also contact Corvid Aid - a charity dedicated to the rescue of corvids - I'm sure they would have some fascinating stories about corvid bonding!
Hope to chat to you soon

| | | Re: Author seeks Crow fans, and esp people who keep crows I love crows, unfortunately I have no experience of them other than seeing them locally. It's good to know that not everyone seems them as pests to be disposed of. My local park has some enormous crows, they sometimes follow me round when I'm walking my little dog, I sometimes wonder if they're thinking he might make a tasty snack. |

| | | Re: Author seeks Crow fans, and esp people who keep crows Your dog is safe!
I'm no expert but our crows only go for dead food - sometimes when we put raw steak out they approach it very warily and do a 'jumping jack' pecking at it then jumping back - this is to make sure it really is dead and isnt likely to bite them back! I know they are meant to attack lambs but my boyfriend who is a sheep shearer and meat inspector has been in and around farming all his life says he has never once seen it. Perhaps if they are desperately hungry they might attack something dying or almost dead - but they prefer food that doesnt bite back.
Next time you go for a walk take some left overs for them - they will love you for it! |
