| | | Bird ID If You Please - Whitethroat? Hi all
I need some help with this bird, I think its a whitethroat? But then it could be a blackcap?
Taken last week in Kent, near Ashford.
Apologies for the poor photo quality, but thanks in advance. |

| | | Re: Bird ID If You Please - Whitethroat? Hi,
looks pretty good for Whitethroat - the long tail (cf blackcap shorter) and head sort of cresty bit and stance/jizz look right - you should have heard its call, which is what it seems to be doing from a high perch - its very scratchy in note.
then normally skulks inside bushes after advertising for a mate etc from on high!
Cheers
Ken

| | | Re: Bird ID If You Please - Whitethroat? Hi thanks for that, that is exactly what it did, it sung loud and proud from the tree top and then went and chirped surreptitiously from the middle of the hedge.
Thanks again. |
