Dartford Warbler

Has anyone seen, or heard of Dartford Warblers at Pagham Harbour ?

I saw one there on Sunday. I was walking through the Gorse, watching the numerous Sparrows, flying in and out, when i spotted a small dark brown bird from behind.
I watched it as i realised that it wasn't a Sparrow. It turned its head around, and i noticed a red eye.
Didn't get the chance to photograph it, as, as soon as it saw me, it was gone.
I had forgotten it until seeing that they live in gorse, on Spring watch.

Cant wait to get back there now, to see if, i can see and photograph it.

Dartord warblers occasionally turn up at Pagham Harbour so your observation may well be sound. Suggest on your next visit you call in at the Information Centre at the Ferry and check out their list of recently seen birds. If possible have a word with the warden.

Yes, I know the warden. A very well informed person. He has often helped me with ID's in the past.
Haven't seen him since my sighting, but will make a point of seeing him on my next visit.
Although, I am 99% sure that it was a Dartford Warbler.
