Rutland Ospreys update

We have had excellent news over the course of the last week, all three Osprey nests in Rutland now have chicks.

The news that everyone hoped for regarding the Manton bay nest on the nature reserve itself came on Monday morning with the hatching of the first chick, since then another two have hatched making it three chicks in total.

This nest has a camera looking into it and live images are beamed back directly to a large TV screen in the Lyndon visitor centre, the footage of the new arrivals has been stunning.

did they ever get to the bottom of the missing ospreys incident???

good news about the successful breeding, i went down to see them in april, only saw one pair then though. must get down there again!
