Help! Calling All Bird Lovers! Life At Risk! Need Help!

Hello im new to this so here goes.

i was walking home the other day to find some children kicked what apperd to be a ball of mud and grass on closer inspection its was a birds nest.

there were two young in the nest one was not moving att all and the other one was breathing fast (i asume it was in shock)

i had two choices leave it there and it would have died very quickly or i could take it home.

after googleing it i realse i shouldnt have touchecd it as the mother wont take it back

.

but th fact is i have.

i have built it a Small nest in a box with holes in its dark safe and sucure, it has a part is origanl nest and some drind grass and twings in there.

i have spoke to the RSPB and RCPCA and they have said that i can eiter look after it until it dies, or leave it in a hedge and hope for the best.

I Belive it To Be A Song Thrush

its about the size of a fist.

it cant fly.

its not yet fully featherd.

it has water, bread, seeds.

ii spent 3 hours this moring digging up worms for it it seems to eat one then sleep and then cerrp like its wants attention.

it lets me feed him and hes calm around me.

and help or advise would be much appreiciated

Do you have any idea which tree or shrub the nest may have come from ,if so its best chance would be to replace it . it would probably be close to where you found it in some dense hedge cover,there may be signs of the nest remains hanging from a shrub.If it is not possible to return it eg more than a day or 2,you need to be careful not to overfeed or over water them.Keep him somewhere warm but not hot with fresh air if possible. It is difficult to rear young birds,exspecially if they are traumatised so do not feel bad should the worst happen.well done for trying to give him a chance.if the nest was mud lined it will be a song thrush.In which case worms should be a fine diet.

Good on ya for not walking on by.

When its a bit older you'll have to run round the garden flapping your arms. You'll look a bit daft but the young un will get the idea.

Let us know how you get on and take some pics for us.

If he/she is that small I suggest contacting your local wildlife hospital, the RSPCA won't be much help they don't take in strays anymore so I dout they will take a baby bird.

It will need feeding every 20 mins or when hungry from dawn till dusk, its a time comsuming task.

he seems ok around me ive got him to walk(hop) about
he falls as he gets to fast but its almost like hes learnign to walk :')
