Scaur Rocks, Luce Bay

There are much better known gannet colonies in the UK but for anyone who gets the chance these rocks are worth a visit at this time of year. Please excuse the photo quality and I know that the seals should not really be on this forum but while the birds are the major attraction the seals are also part of the same scene.

They're also worth a visit for the pollack fishing - a nice trip from Port William as I remember.

Was it a commercial trip you were on mac?

Nope - run out with the boat since the boys were home for the weekend, spectacular run of tide when it gets going but not quite on a par with the mull

Sounds good. I'm hopefully off up to Galloway in the summer so might take a look. Speaking of pollack, are there any good rock marks/jetties from which I might be able to do a spot of spinning? We hope to stay in the Rockcliffe area, so the closer to there the better.
