| | | Barn Owls at dawn... ... there is nothing better to watch.
On my local patch which is Marton Mere in Blackpool, currently has quite a few numbers of Barn Owls and this morning at around 5am (yes I was up EARLY!!!) I had the pleasure of watching 3-4 Barn Owls hunting over the fields and reeds, there is something that is so pleasing to watch these magnificent birds hunting no more than 20 feet from in front of you.
I highly recommend getting up at the crack of dawn for such a wonderful sight. |

It can sometimes be really hard to get out of bed but when I do make the effort I'm always glad I did.
Listening to the dawn chorus and watching the sun come up is certainly something to be recommended.
Its the best time of day to watch most wildlife and the sight of Barn Owls floating past you in the half light is a memory you will keep for a long while. |

| | | Re: Barn Owls at dawn... Hey am glad someone agrees and have to say am exactly the same mate. At least you can have a cat nap in the afternoon if the tiredness catches up with you hahahaha.
Was going to try and check to see if I could catch them at dusk last night, didnt and now regret it as it was clear till around midnight last night. Got up this morning and the weather seems to have turned... DAMMIT!!! |

I understand your delight fully. I was lucky enough to witness two quatering a field very successfully last evening. The colours, the sound, the silence of their flight is wonderful to behold. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
