Heard my first Nightjars of the year on the New Forest this evening. I was driving across the Forest tonight & decided to pull over & have a quick listen out. They're quite late this year. |

I was out a week ago near here, but didn't hear a thing. I'm hoping the warm weather will encourage them and their food to become more active

I live on a heathland SSSI in surrey and not heard any yet, mind youwe didn't have any last year so may be a disturbance factor invloved rather than lack of suitable habitat. I'll keep my ears peeled?! |

There was one for a day a couple of weeks back in central London- in Regent's Park- which turns up some amazing birds through the course of the year! |

I can remember as a child staying with my parents in a caravan at Highcliffe and hearing nightjars all night, <mumble,mumble> years ago.

they have been around dorset/hants border for about 3 weeks, i've been seeing them and hear thier "quweep" call but they have only just started churring. I'm lucky enough to hear and regularly see them from the garden (needless to say i'm no longer in the postcode UB4)

There was one churring on Salthouse Heath (Norfolk) at 4am on Saturday morn' and also more nightingales in song than I can ever recall there.
