2 evenings ago I saw a new bird.
The bird was rather plain to look out, it had grey/brown feathers back and wings and its chest and throat were very pale almost white, it looked quite a contrast on its face. Having checked descriptions for common and lesser whitethroat I believe it to be the latter.
What struck me was its flight, hard to describe exactly, but very flitty and bat like, but flying straight ie. not like a chaffinch whose flight has been described as bat like but all over the place.
It went from the top of a conifer by the feeders to the top of a garage.
I now wish instead of running for the bins I had got my camera.
Does this sound right ? Does anyone know if they have a distinctive flight?
