| | | Re: Jenny Wren We have had one about in the garden in the last day or two last winter one kept bathing in the spout of the water going into the pond, it was fine except the water flow was to strong and it kept falling off
I found a Wren nest last spring, built in a boathouse on top of a wooden support, there was a 2inch gap and the nest was on that, classic Wren nest place unfortunatly i used to walk on the boathouse to watch the fish and think i might have scared her away i'll know next year though, i've put a wren nest box on the boathouse that i hope they use |

The best way to see them in the summer is listen out for their song-one of the loudest songs you'll hear in British roosts and very explosive. There's a Quicktime mp3 on British Garden Birds - Wren |
Wow! Now that's impressive!
Our little visitor certainly made some noise! I'm astonished that such a wee bird has such a big voice!

| | | Re: Jenny Wren Whats best to put out for them to eat when the weather gets bad... I read in one bird book about placing grated cheese under the hedges...I think someone forget to tell the writer that mice etc etc also like cheese..
We have several wrens under a very old thick ivy busy I think they are in the cracks of the barn wall behind the ivy.
