Jimi Hendrix Crow
Yesterday I saw the following bird on a roundabout on the A130 in Essex. Hopefully someone will recognize it from my (uninformed) description and let me know what it is.

The bird was completely black and about the size of a large crow. The head was slightly larger than a crows and was round and fluffy.

Any ideas?

I suspect it was a Crow. Some birds- usually males- do sometimes have heads like you describe.

Ravens are stil pretty rare birds in Essex, though records are increasing.
