| | | Unusual Wagtail There are plenty of Yellow Wagtails on my patch right now.
This afternoon I saw a bird that looked exactly like a Yellow Wagtail but it had a blue/grey head.
Any Ideas?
I didn't manage a pic but will keep my eyes open, maybe next time. |

yellow wagtails have about 12 different races of them the main difference being in the head.
best idea is dig through your collins till you find one that fits then stick it on bird guides a grey headed would pull in a few twitchers |

It seems like Britian's supspecies is very unusual in having a yellow head - almost all of the others are blue. Wikipedia has some descriptions and pictures. |
