| | | Re: How are your song thrushes doing ? A rarity in my garden- partly because when they do appear they tend to get chased off by Blackbirds, but they are reasonably common around the local parks + wild spaces. Quite a few singing this morning. |

| | | Re: How are your song thrushes doing ? Each spring have solitary visit for a few days but quickly seen off each time by resident blackbirds. This year have seen daily for past three weeks and this one stands its ground against the blackbirds - just moving a few feet each time they threaten until they lose interest. |

| | | Re: How are your song thrushes doing ? Hi,
I have not see a song thrush in my garden for 2 years now, and then just the one. Years ago, they would have been one of my most popular visitors. Even when I go for a birdwatching in the local woods, I count myself lucky to see one.

| | | Re: How are your song thrushes doing ? Noticed just last week a thrush's nest in the bow of a tree at the bottom of our garden. 2 very large babies who have left the nest early today. Saw one of the babies sat on a branch of the same tree - it was there for about 3 hours this morning. Mum kept returning to feed it.
Flown now but hopefully will be back. |

| | | Re: How are your song thrushes doing ? Our daily visitor is a song thrush that first popped in during the terrible winter weather. He quickly found that he could get his fill of suet and insect pellets by coming in very close while the other birds kept their distance. Now he's extremely tame, coming within arm's reach to get a refill of suet pellet for himself and a beakful of sultana pieces for the young uns. I thought at first I was in charge but now realise he has me very well trained!!
Doesn't he look in good nick... it's defo a bloke cos he's doing all the hard work ..... |

There is one that sings from 05.30 till about 21.00 everyday from the top of a horse chestnut at the bottom of the garden, he has been there for about 10 days and I wish he would learn a new song | | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
