| | | Re: Egyptian Geese Hi.
Yes they are very common on the Norfolk Broads and surrounding area.
I was at Cockshoot Broad near Woodbastwick this morning, (opposite side of the river bure to the closed horning ferry pub) and there was a pair with half a dozen goslings.
Can be cantankerous sods though!

| | | Re: Egyptian Geese Egyptian's are my favourite of the Geese, very striking. They are infact the breed that triggered my interest.
I saw a pair originally back in February this year at Mill Lake in Bracknell. When I visited the same lake on Wednesday this week, they had 2 very young Goslings, apparently the only ones to survive.
I also went to North Lake in Bracknell & thought all my Christmas' had come at once to find a pair with 5 more mature Goslings, allegedly 7-8 weeks old. A very good size, nearly as big as the adults.
They were actually feeding bread from a man's hand which I was surprised to see.
I got some amazing photo's. They came within a few feet of me at both sites.
Hopefully sorting software out this weekend so that I can finally start uploading my pics.

| | | Re: Egyptian Geese They are very good parents (apparently) and so have a high success rate when breeding, I saw them see off a carrion crow in no uncertain terms while on the boat trip. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
