| | | Juv Tawny?? Spotted this one this evening, is it a Juv or Adult? I'm going for Juv as it didn't fly off when spotted. |

| | | Re: Juv Tawny?? Agree, lovely photo. Looks like an adult to me, but I'm no expert. Sometimes tawnys do sit still and assume you haven't seen them.
Is it sitting on the entrance of an owl box? If so, is is your box? Just wondered as we put up a similar box 2 years ago, and never had any interest from owls, even though we have lots of tawnys calling here early in the year. Currently there is a squirrel in ours and the local GSWs are using it at a very effective drumming spot! |

| | | Re: Juv Tawny?? Thanks everyone, I was very suprised that it stayed so still. They usually fly off. We put the box up around 10 years ago, i'm not sure if they use it for nesting or roosting, i've seen them going into it before
Was pleased with the photo, especially considering it was taken at 8-50pm with no flash on full zoom and the bird was a good 25ft away | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
