| | | birds nest? I just noticed a blue tit popping in and out of crevices in the dry stone wall in my garden. It disappeared into a small space in the wall and came out with a small white thing which looked almost like a sack? and started to peck and eat it. Could this mean there is a nest inside the wall cavity? My hubby seemed to think that was the case but I've not noticed the bird there before? Just curious as my next box further up the garden is unused!!! |

| | | Re: birds nest? It could be,but it could just as easily be looking for grubs for food.If you keep an eye on the spot for an hour or so,that should be enough time to confirm the bird is using the crevice as a nest.in my experience most blue tits nest above head height but not all. |

| | | Re: birds nest? It could have been removing a faecal sack from the nest as they do sometimes eat them, however gross that sounds. The nestlings poo comes out conveniently "wrapped" so the adults can carry it away and help keep the nest cleaner. |

| | | Re: birds nest? I'll keep an eye on it. The "sack" did seem quite neatly wrapped as said but I can't imagine the bird would nest there as it's only 2 or 3 feet from the ground. Thanks anyway for the replies |
