| | | Blue tit worries nestbox The birds have been around for some time now in the sparrow terrace box. having no camera on the boxes i am unsure which comparment the nest is in, as the female took nesting material into 2 of the 3 comparments. She has been incubating for over a week and half now as the male continues to bring food. The worrying thing for me is which comparment holds the eggs as the female goes in and out of two seperate comparments in the terrace. What is she up 2 is all well and fine. Im worried that she has built 2 nests and has layed eggs in both. I do not want to check the terrace as not to disturb. Helpppp. |

| | | Re: Blue tit worries nestbox There is little you can do if she has nested in both boxes, just let her get on with it. Maybe she is a young bird raising her first brood and has got a little confused. Just enjoy watching them and hope they raise a successful brood and maybe with a bit more experience, organise themselves a bit better next year! |

| | | Re: Blue tit worries nestbox But what help are you expecting? You cannot do anything if the bird has laid in both boxes. You cannot interfere incase you put her off the nests altogether. I'm sure there are many other members here who will tell you the same. You cannot do anything with the nest or boxes whilst the birds are using them so leave them to get on with it. Birds are not infallible - they make mistakes the same as we all do, and hopefully they learn from them (probably better than we do in fact). Just enjoy watching them and let them get on with doing what birds do!

Observe from a distance..
It is illegal to tamper with nesting birds.. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
