| | | Does anyone want my neighbour? Just thought I'd post a picture of my bird hating neighbours latest idea for keeping out all those nasty vicious birds that so inconveniently live in the countryside that is behind our gardens
Don't know if he realises what the thing is that he has rested his hammer on but the feeder still has the same nuts in that went in it when they moved in (2 years) and the table has never seen any food!
The ribbon and string along the centre fence have never worked so he is now onto the big stuff
We have had 50+ species of bird land in our garden in the 8 years we have been here so I don't hold out much hope for this idea either as we don't get that many seagulls in Barnsley
Thats that off my chest - does anyone want him?????????? |

| | | Re: Does anyone want my neighbour? No thanks Shenk1, have enough problems in my garden with the local council 'tidying' areas up that back onto my garden - they have removed trees and the scrubby land behind mine as it is a council estate (but an out of the way area that was not an eyesore or in anyones way). Since then, luckily the 20 odd species of bird that I had in the garden seem to have survived along with the squirrel but the hedgehog community appears to have taken a nosedive
I can't understand these people who don't welcome wildlife into their gardens, for me that is the primary source of joy in mine
I hope that your unfriendly neighbours don't put of the birds in your garden, long may you enjoy them! |

Shame about the Bird table, you don't see many like that anymore. |

If you want the table put an offer in - its as new and un-used |

I can understand the need to keep some things out of the garden if you are so bothered, but why can't we live in harmony with the wildlife...after all it was probably here before we were...
Personally I will be planting many Nasturtiums to attract the White butterflies, leaving a small nettle and thistle patch for the Torties and Peacocks and actively encouraging the Buddelia for all the adult butterflies late in summer. Not to mention the fuschias for the Elephant hawks and any other plants I can think of to encourage the sadly dwindling Lepidopterans in my area
Last year the Elephant Hawks just about demolished my fuschias but it was worth it to see the wonderful caterpillars grow and flourish, and the hope to see the adults emerge any time now!

We were a a birthday party for a neighbour last year , bbq in the middle of summer , and they nearly knocked the table over because a money spider was on her shirt! They spent the whole time waving their arms around because of the unbelievably dangerous midges we have round here then they told us they were going on holiday to Vietnam I never asked how they got on with the wildlife! | | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
