Nestbuilding house sparrows

Despite providing a colonial nest box and food, we rarely see house sparrows in our garden; although there are plenty elsewhere in the village in old hedges, etc.

I was delighted to see this pair collecting nest material









It looks as if they are nesting above a window over our bedroom but it is not possible to be absolutely sure.

we had house sparrows nesting in the eaves last year.

They raised one brood in a neighbours house then moved to ours where they had 2 more broods in 2 different nests.

At the moment they are feeding chicks next door, so we expect them to move in shortly!
