What Owls are there in London?

This is because last night i saw a bird fly over me and it was pretty huge.
I live just outside of a town but there are houses and trees all around.

Hi,
There are a lot of large birds that fly at night, herons, waders, gulls in particular. If it was huge you may be looking at a long eared owl, tawny owl, barn owl or short eared owl,... but my guess would be heron.

If it was a large bird I suspect it was possibly a Heron too.

Both Tawny + Little Owl are resident around London, the former in many of the larger inner parks too. The 2 "eared" owls are mainly winter visitors/passage birds though breeding may occasionally occur + Barn Owl is very local in some of the outer areas.
