| | | Plover Eggs? Can anybody confirm that these eggs are plovers. They were on a ground nest in a field. We did see the parent, it was a black and white bird with a bit of brown. (The pound coin gives you an idea of their size.)
Thank you |

| | | Re: Plover Eggs? I forgot to mention, that the parent had a crest, the lapwing I have just looked at, doesn't seem to have one, but I notice that they all traditional terms for the same type of bird. Thanks again |

| | | Re: Plover Eggs? Now I am confused again, at least we have narrowed it down. I'll see if I can get a pic of the bird itself next time. Neversaw the parent when I took the pic of the eggs. Thx |

| | | Re: Plover Eggs? Have a look at the pictures of lapwings in the Gallery, they have crests and I`m pretty sure that they are lapwing eggs, its a typical nest and 4 eggs pointing inwards. |

| | | Re: Plover Eggs? Lapwing, Green Plover, Peewit - all names for the same bird. They do have crests, but can raise and lower them, I believe, so might not be visible at all times.
