There is a pile of sludge at the edge of the track waiting to be spread on the fields.
With the cold and miserable weather we have had over the last few days there has been a number of Swallows sitting on it taking advantage of the heat generated and keeping nice and warm.
This morning I was delighted to see about thirty House Martins sitting with them, first ones this year.
Another first was four Swifts hunting over the creek. These guys must be feeling the cold and be wishing they stayed in Africa.
