Can someone identify this bird for me.

I see him from my flat eveyday, he hangs around with a brown bird. Ive never seen anything like it before.

is he an escaped pet?

It looks likae a leucistic {is that how you spell it?) Blackbird tom me.

I didn't know blackbirds were black and white, I know magpies are.

I think its something to do with a lack of pigment .There has been athread on this morning about it - look in the birds section it should be near the top(I don't know how to link things yet

It is indeed a male leucistic blackbird they are usually plain black but there are some individuals that have a few white feathers or many as this one has

I occasionally see one with a few white flight feathers or tail feathers, the brown bird you see him hanging around with is the female

Thanks for your help guys. Its really good to see something that catches your eye from time to time,

I wonder if there chicks will have the same patterns?? hmmm better keep an eye out for that.
