| | | id of garden bird please hi everyone
Im very new to this website so excuse me if not making sense. Today in my garden i saw something quite unusaul. At first i thought it was a young blackbird but not sure. Wasnt quick enough to get the camera. It was brown with a lighter colour chest . quite long n the body but still had the plump baby look about it. Its also got large brown spots on chest. It fed on the ground and bird table and flew off. Can anyone help please. debbie |

I too think it sounds like a young Blackbird, we had one in the garden last year, still Blackbird size and shape, fluffed up and with a chest area of rusty almost red brown - I was convinced it wasn't a blackbird! I even searched under American Robin.
Anyhow it was a Blackbird I watched it get a little darker and a little less fluffy over the weeks with its speckled markings disappearing - I still think its the prettiest bird I have ever seen and will always favour Blackbirds. |

Its very pretty. I also favour the blackbirds. Starlings are starting to appear by the dozen. I hope it wont put off the smaller birds. I also have a very small nest with just one chick. Soooo cute. Mum has a very loud tweet tweet when i was being nosy. She was up on the roof. Think its a coal tit. Its black head but grey frontage and very noisy. Any ideas anyone Thanks again Debbie (very new to the birds) | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
