I was delighted when I went bird atlas-ing this morning at 5.45, almost my first 'spot' was a yellow wagtail and I saw 4 in total. They were all in a field of OSR in full flower! They were perched at the very top of the OSR plants, tseeping and flitting short distances to another plant when disturbed. I know they are ground nesters and often found feeding around the feet of cattle which is where the last ones I saw were. Has anyone else seen them in OSR? |

They are quite well known for breeding in OSR + I've seen them amongst it several times in the south-east. Always lovely birds to see- I haven't connected with any yet this year. |

Very interesting, amazing what you can learn on WAB! I haven't seen a Yellow Wagtail for years, not since moving back to Bedfordshire from Suffolk. There's plenty of OSR round here, so I'll keep an eye out for Yellow Wagtails in it from now on. | | |
