ID please

Hi all

I cant make up my mind....
I think it is either a chiffchaff or a willow warbler
Can anyone help me with it please

I would say this is a Chiff Chaff as Willow Warblers are more greenish in colour

i thought this looks more yellowy/green, suggesting willow warbler, but from this photo it is quite difficult

I would agree Chiffchaff as legs are dark and eyebrow not very distinct.
Key Differences between Chiffchaff and Willow Warbler are the leg colour, wing length, eyebrow and tail wagging. Chiffchaff has dark legs, shorter wing, less distinct shorter eyebrow and it wags its tail where willow warbler flicks its tail.

These new pictures are clearer making the identification easier.

The underparts of a Willow Warbler tend to have yellow tones, whilst a Chiffchaff has paler and rather drab underparts, as in the case of these photographs. Therefore I still think it is Chiffchaff. Agree?

upon seeing these other photos, i'd agree this is definately a chiffchaff

Hmm. I would favour Willow Warbler on the length of the primary projection. Colours tend to be too variable in both species to provide a really reliable ID methinks. But I'm happy to wait for the "experts" to give their opinion, and then I too can learn from them
