Linnet ?
I believe this is a Linnet.
It is the first one that i have seen. There are lots of them at Pagham Harbour, at the moment.

They are great birds.

When I surveyed an area fairly recently I counted a flock of around 18 Linnets, they seem to form very large flocks in similar behaviour to Goldfinches
