Sadly I missed the event - 640miles north, away visiting the family in the Highlands. Due to Volcano dust we had to drive up - amazed at how many buzzards we spotted over the motorway.
Off Rosemarke beach - Moray Firth - we saw a male gooseander, and red kites over the Black Isle - the local schools have each adopted a kite.
On our return 22 Apl the robin nest was empty - we kept saying they'd be gone when we got back - they hatched Good Friday. Havn't seen the family yet - hope they will stop sulking because the feeders got a bit low while we were away(yes I did fill them up completely! lots of hundry birds about).
Thanks for your good wishes for my birthday (63 and happy) - going to Pagham Harbour this afternoon with hubby, family and grandchildren (youngest 6yrs)to spot some waders and maybe a peregrine! Tide will be half out with plenty of mud - we're taking the scope this time - so often we leave it behind and the birds love to plonk themselves just out of range of our 8 x 42's!
The peregrines are nesting again at nearby Chichester Cathedral spire - they have a webcam - and if you can drag yourself away from the shops and look up you can see them live.
Enjoy your saturday, Anty Patty
