interesting shelduck hybrid

Here's a photo of the shelduck hybrid that is resident at rutland water that i took on wednesday, anyone who has been to the WT reserve there may have seen it, as it is often outside the visitor centre.
according to birdforum, its often recorded as an australian shelduck, which i'll admit is what i beleived, but apparently it is a hybrid, although i'm not entirley sure of its lineage, although its been suggested as a shelduck x ruddy shelduck. its an interesting bird nonetheless, and apparently has hooked up with an egyptian goose female, must be some odd hybrids out of that relationship!

Looks as if it has been crossed with a pheasant by the colouring!
