unidentified waterfowl
I spotted this on the Firth of Clyde today. I haven't a clue what it is can any one help

Um.Long-tailed Duck it could be,I can see the white crown easily ,but thought that it was the light or possibly leucistic,I can't see the tail but everything else fits,so it most likely is

Definitely a Long-tailed Duck; they have a complex set of moults.

A long tailed duck. Nice view you got there. Seems to be coming into summer plummage as well..

Thanks for that. I've only ever seen Long tailed ducks in winter plumage so that's a first for me. Thanks for your help.
