| | | blackbirds failed ? the blackbirds in my garden have not been successful , the reason is unclear, when i came home the yesterday both birds where up a tree nearby raising the alarm call, couldnt see anything obviuos around, so checked this morning when i noticed the female in the garden, only 2 eggs in which she had deserted, but both eggs had small holes as if they where about to hatch, just wondering if she was an inexpierenced bird and freaked out not knowing what was happening, strange but sad and both birds are still in the garden, hope the rest of you have better luck, rossy |

| | | Re: blackbirds failed ? We have a failed blackbirds nest too. For about a week or more a female has been incubating.
Checked this morning, no female, no eggs, no babies!
I have watched the local jays and magpies doing their rounds recently!
I hope she finds a more secure site next time, I presume she will try again! | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
