The RSPB in conjunction with Natural England have been conducting a large scale survey of Hen Harriers this spring in upland England and are welcoming input from the public on sightings they have made of this species whilst out and about.
It is estimated that there should be around 200 breeding pairs in England but last year there were just 6 breeding pairs which managed to rear young.
The RSPB are asking sightings to be reported by phone or by email and can be contacted on
0845 4600121 calls charged at local rate or by sending an email to
henharriers@rspb.org When you send any details of your sightings they require a date, location and a six figure grid reference where possible.
Your sightings and input can help to give this species a fighting chance to survive in Upland England and allow future generations the chance to marvel at this species in the wild.
