I hope the moderators don't mind me putting this on here, but this year we are highlighting the conservation issues relating to birds of prey, with several live webcams.
The first of the cameras has gone live this week, and we are hoping to have a KestrelCam and maybe even a Buzzard or Little Owl Cam as well.
You can watch the Barn Owls at the link below and can let us know what you see by sending us a comment on the website.

They are a bit sleepy at the moment, but obviously get more active at dusk. We are hoping the female will lay eggs very soon.

nice - we've got a local pair which i get to watch hunting while i'm walking the dog most nights

Thank you eeyore and Ladywell. Good to hear that the barn owls are doing well in Wiltshire (my home county). Feel free to watch them any time, we should be getting kestrels as well soon...

I just saw "my " pair hunting (well one of them anyway) - I think that my female might be on eggs as the hunting bird is definitely taking food back to the barn.

That's good news. In all the years I lived in Wiltshire (in 70's & 80's) I only saw a barn owl once... |

That's great news. I know of two maybe three pairs around here (Dorset), so maybe things are looking up for them. Still a problem with them finding enough decent habitat to survive on and the barns to nest in. |

we've got tawny and little owl locally as well, and short eared owl (tho the latter is of couyrse a ground nester)
