woodpecker hole but which ?
Hi folks,found this fresh looking woodpeckers hole today,only about 12ft high.The tree had many holes further up as if it is used regularly.Around the base you could see all the chippings.I think it may be asking to much for woodpecker hole id .

Sounds the right height for a Green woodpecker, but the GSP (Greater spotted woodpecker) could also be a contender. I think the only way to be sure is to wait until they are sitting on eggs (both take it in turns to sit on the eggs) and see which woodpecker appears to feed their partner
