| | | robin question ? have seen a robin taking huge ammounts of moss into my little shed, but several times he was forced away by another robin, do they secure a territory before nesting, or will my robin likely be forced out. |

| | | Re: robin question ? Male Robins are very territorial and will see off any male trying to muscle in on their patch. As to which Robin wins depends on who is the most dominant.

| | | Re: robin question ? thanks for that, do male robins build the nest aswell as females? unfortunately both first time nesting birds in my garden are blue tits and robins and apparently both sexes are near identical. |

| | | Re: robin question ? It's the female Robin who builds the nest and incubates the eggs for 13 days, once hatched both parents feed the young. If the female lays another clutch of eggs then the male will continue to feed the young on his own.
Male and female Robins are identical. The young lack the red breast and are very speckled until their first moult. Blue tits are slightly different, in that the males are slightly brighter than the females. The young have a greenish cap and yellowish cheeks. Hope this helps
Good luck with them!
