Northern Swallows!
The toughest winter for years and today April 11th 2 Swallows flying around Cattal north of Wetherby, unbelievably early for this part of the world.

I live in Argyll on the west coast of Scotland so we don't have any swallows just yet. I was visiting relatives in Dumfries last week and they have swallows already, I saw a few my self feeding over the horse paddock. Makes you wonder doesn't it, A few weeks ago we still had temperatures of minus 6.

1st one in this part of North Yorkshire was 15th March which is very early compared to recent years.

I saw a few Swallows yesterday at the farm where I keep my pony. I'm near the east coast of Scotland and the farm is near Musselburgh. I haven't seen any at home yet which is only 4 miles from the farm , a little more inland

I saw my first ones locally on the 21st of March, incredibly early.
