| | | My first sedge warbler of the year Not only did I hear for the first time this year the unmistakable call of a sedge warbler, but it actually stayed in view long enough to be photographed skulking on a bramble at the back of the bush. Usually, they are very evident from their song, but fiendishly hard to actually locate and photograph - at least, that is my experience.
Reassuring to know that the great cycle is repeating itself despite our best efforts.

Just goes to show that you don't always see what you hear!

| | | Re: My first sedge warbler of the year There was a sedgie in the bush singing (?) its unmistakable range of sounds. I just got too excited and jumped to conclusions. In this case, two and two did not make a sedge warbler. I really should have more careful before posting.

| | | Re: My first sedge warbler of the year Still think you did well, because you heard a Sedge warbler and got a couple of really nice pics of a Reed bunting. Sounds like you had a nice time

| | | Re: My first sedge warbler of the year An easy enough mistake to make Colin but you still got a decent couple of photos. you are right about Sedge Warblers being difficult to photograph. I heard my first one of the year today and despite fleeting glimpses there was no way I could get a photograph. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
